    Enjoyed on the deck on a cool fall evening with skirt steak and roast potatoes; Rich and full-bodied, but it is all in balance – the savory notes of bacon, olive, and (yes) green peas, the sweet dark berry fruit, and the silky texture on the midpalate. Now that it has calmed down and come together, this is a better-than-expected food wine. (93 pts.)

I also had this wine yesterday with pan seared duck breast. This was my fourth bottle and it just seems to get better. It is so well balanced for a wine that on the nose has really big dark fruit aromas, the palete is suprisingly complex and smooth with plenty of savory flavors. We started with the Rhys 2007 Alpine Pinot Noir, which was also great but completely different.
