TN: 2006 Nicolas Potel Beaune 1er Cru Teurons (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru)

Candied red fruit on the nose. Wrapped up tight initially with rather aggressive tannins. It’s leathery and musky too. There are some interesting parts here, with significant air it smooths a bit and begins to give more love on the nose and palate. Long, warming finish. Still austere. Needs food now. Needs time.

Thanks for taking one for the team. I’ve heard of a lot of '06s being shut down these days.

One for the team, and my own edumacation. 2010 is my Burg year. About a year since the bug got me, and I’m now in full learning mode.
Still very rustic on night two. Not sure that’s going to change much, but I’ll wait a while to find out.
Cheers.

Nice, Dennis. I like the Potel 06s but indeed they are seriously young.
