    I love Ogier wines and this fairly cheap syrah blend is a good example.
    Was treated to a wonderful barrel tasting by Stephane a few months ago and was really impressed with his whole range.
    This may be a Vin de Pays but it is a lot better than many other more expensive Cote Rotie.
    It has violets and black fruit on the nose and on the palate cherries,pepper and fungi. has a lovely creamy mouthfeel with good structure and balance. A nice fresh wine which I suspect is drinking at its best about now although I have not tasted any older vintages. Excellent VFM at about £20 a bottle BBR and Raeburn sell this. (92 pts.)

The 2004 wasn’t bad, from your description the 2006 sounds better.

The Rosine is almost a house wine for us. Not sure ai’ve had the Syrah recently, how does it compare?

I’m not entirely clear, but I think the Souer Terres de Seyssuel is from newer plantings than La Rosine, in a different location with Seyssuel to north on the other side of the river from Cote Rotie and La Rosine to the south. I think Ogier has higher expectations for the Seyssuel plantings but Ogier bottling is new enough that I haven’t had enough experience to form a preference.
