2006 Lillian Winery Syrah - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (10/20/2010)
Had open in bottle for 4hrs. WOW, first taste, and I knew this was going to be good! Beautiful nose of creme de cassis, dusty white pepper, coffee. Big, yet smooth and polished in the mouth…gobs of crushed blackberries, cherries, cassis, blueberry fruit…intense dusty spices, florals(cherry blossom, lavender, creme de cassis), creamy sweet smoky oak, licorice, some meat as well. I love the darkness of the fruit, and the spicy florals…well balanced, with a great feel. Should gain even more with a few years. Love this! (94 pts.)
