I opened the bottle yesterday, had a glass and decided that it requires some serious air time, so I corked it and refrigerated.
Today, the wine has changed very little. It is a rather large wine with plenty of dark fruit, some violets and tobacco notes in there. The tannins are chewable. Really tough to judge since the wine is so young and everything is so packed and hard to discern nuances. Some wines are good to go young, this one requires some time, and hopefully everything will come together, but I’m the last person to predict the future. IMO worth the gamble at $50.
Also of note is that the wine is such a blend that it has a little bit of everything that really confuses me. But overall, I would happily drink the wine.
A final note, if I was to compare this blended wine with some other blended wines, I would go for the L’Aventure Estate Cuvee or Lewis Alec’s Blend over this one, but of course, different blends.
