    Very deep garnet. Tiny amount of bricking. Nose of leather and earth. Very meaty wine. Very hot on first pop-n-pour. But mellowed out nicely on second day to show a wine with plenty of structure and fruit. Still a little too much alcohol for me. Notes of cedar and very dark berries. Next bottles I will let decant for at least 2 hours. This would go quite well with grilled beef (92 pts.)

Nice note. Had this in 17 and said the same thing about a 2 hour decant. I really liked this on release and always scored it in the 93-95 range. Very good vintage on this one.
