2006 Eric Kent Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Windsor Oaks Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (11/12/2009)
This is a terrific California pinot. Dark but bright red in color, the wine has a wonderful nose of red fruits, flowers, spice and earth. In the mouth it has a medium weight with excellent balance, once of its best attributes. To be sure it is balanced on the “larger California” end of the pinot spectrum, but does so with grace and poise. Satisfying rich sweet fruit, without being over the top or jammy, along with darker earth elements, a hint of cola and some mineral quality. One of the best California pinots we’ve had in a long time. Eric Kent Winery does fabulous work with this varietal. (92 pts.)
