2006 Domaine Marquis d’Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru (7/3/2014)
Vibrant, floral, pure, fresh and detailed with more power than one would expect from a 2006. Red fruited, raspberry/strawberry/red cherry, touch of sous bois, white pepper, floral, lifted but drying and pure mineral finish. Just what we felt like tonight with a Epoisses Souffle. Be better in 5+ years. (92 pts.)

Haven’t had one recently but weren’t they criticising the Volnays in 2006 for green stuff or something. Your tasting note looks promising. I like it.
Hi Mike, thanks for the data point. Sound like it showed well but mine will need to wait longer…
Generally the 2006’s have not appeared to have shut down for some reason?

We had the discussion two years ago regards GMT for the Volnay 2006’s. I certainly remember having a 2006 Ducs with it but may revisit this in light of the good Taillepieds showing last night. Could GMT be a result of poor grapes due to hail damage? Cheers Mike
