2006 Clarendon Hills Grenache Kangarilla Vineyard - Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, Clarendon (11/1/2013)
Just arrived in the mail. Rose petals, boysenberries, spices and soy sauce. On the palate picks up some smoke notes. A clean wine with a beautiful finish. Would be fun to mix this into a CDP blind tasting. Excellent value for what I paid for it. Just finished the bottle and top notch effort. (93 pts.)

I swear Clarendon Hills is the Fosters Beer of Aussie Wine. You never really hear of it here in Australia, but I’m seeing numerous threads pop up on here relating to it.
Not that I am saying it isn’t any good, far from it, I still have some old ones back to 98 I think. But it’s not something I actively seek out, more an auction pick up if it catches my eye.
When I popped an '04 Clarendon hills hickinbothham syrah, the nose took me on a trip to cornas, it was glorious…a wine that needed to be decanted 12 hours b4 consumption, this one of the few Aussie producers I seek out…the Grenache are full throttle, quite the opposite to the syrah
Dave I find it hard to believe one would ever attach the name Fosters to Clarendon Hills. This is a top five respect Aussie winery in the US so yes if you guys don’t want to drink them send them over here. I have never been disappointed with their wines and they are not the typical out of control mess that so many Aussie wines have become.
