TN: 2006 Audelssa Estate Winery Summit (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley)

Pop and pour. This a a very serious wine. The color is the darkish brick shade of brick? The nose is all black cherry and pomegranate. Very intense. The mouthfeel is lush with some wonderful black fruits of black cherries, blackberries, currant, and plums. There is a very meticulous tannin weave woven here: an acid level that defies you to light the grill. All dark, all the way, this might benefit from an hour or so, but its so enjoyable now. Maybe just a tad short on the finish…maybe. Its unctuous and pure with class and brawn fighting for your attention. Lovely indeed. Will need to get me some more for the deck next summer. More cab like than many cabs I have had this year, and I do like my cabs.
Just do it. You know you want to. (93 pts.)

This is one truck that should have been backed big time up when offered this summer.

Bill, btw, when I went to my cellar, I had that '45 Mouton in one hand and this in the other. Good choice indeed. newhere

Had the same experience with this wine. I am kicking myself for not buying more when WL offered it for $24. Maybe it will be offered at Cindy at some point.

A friend of mine took a look at my cellar on CT. He said that it looks like I’m a much more informed buyer than I was 2 years ago. I know. Go figure.
I have 3 of these stored safely away.

Dan, don’t be afraid to open one now - it’s singing.

I’m with Mike, though - wish I had purchased more.

However, I’m confused why he likes it so much, as it’s far from an oaky fruit syrup bomb wine that he is ever-so-fond-of!

Your misconception of me is woefully…off. [basic-smile.gif]
Oaky fruit bomb? Syrup?

Tomato, tomatoe, buddy. [wink.gif]

There has to be at least 25-35 people I have drank with here. Does NOBODY wants to come to my rescue here? neener

At least I don’t love a wine on Monday, and hate it by Wednesday…Todd!
My 15 year old daughter is less fickle.

Ignoring the left coast right coast gangsta war that is breaking out here, thanks for the note Mike. I just got mine 2 weeks ago and have them stored in the cellar for the appropriate time.

NOW is the appropriate time! They are showing great now.

It was Monday to Thursday, chief!

At least I owned up to it…and I’m sure it was either bottle variation or the food pairing with the first bottle. I’m gonna take down another '05 Estate - which I recall was NOT an oakshake - and make my future determinations regarding drinking windows based on that.

Indeed.

Oh, and Mike, this actually makes me happy, because now I know that you and I can equally enjoy the same wine!

That is, unless we are enjoying it together on a Wednesday during a quarter moon - then I will HATE it. [wink.gif]

Thanks for the note. This is one of those wineries that I don’t own much of but regard very highly. I rarely see them on the shelf so I guess it is time to start a direct relationship.

I’ll open my last for you when you are here, if you like

Have to come to rescue my friend, Mike. Having shared one delicious bottle of cab after another with him, I can safely say his palate is quite respectable! He does like 'em young though.

Thank you very much Mrs. Shapiro!
Happy Holiday!

Would love it!
