TN: 2005 Switchback Ridge Petite Sirah

2005 Switchback Ridge Petite Sirah Peterson Family Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/20/2010)
I love this monster! Huge and glorious nose of ripe plums, spice, and cocoa. Huge in the mouth, but with such a sense of harmony. A brilliant wine. One of my all-time favorite Petites. Not for the faint of heart. Open 2 hours, it’s opening more and more. The fruit is sweet and complex with terrific coffee and spice notes. Expansive. A great big beautiful slut of a wine!!! Man you couldn’t have said it better, this is a great wine. Love is a good thing!

Can’t wait to try this wine. I’ve generally moved away from this style of wine, but occasionally it really hits the spot, especially with BBQ. Switchback is my go to winery for this genre.

Our oldest is home from college and he made a spicy dish with beef and eggplant. It went really well.

[thumbs-up.gif] I got 6 TNs in CT on this wine, love to see when someone else slobbers correctly about it, too. [rofl.gif]

I read your notes. Clearly we are simpatico on this wine!

It is funny to read Tanzer’s notes or other lower scoring notes in CT just to see how much different people’s reactions are. My feeling is More for ME!
