Was this the Anderson Valley ? Skewis really nailed it in 05. The Bush vy was my favorite but the spice component is trade mark Skewis. They age very nicely. Tex has some good taste…

Bill Landreth gifted me this bottle some time ago, my first Skewis.

This is everything you could ask for in a Pinot. It has verve, acid, fruit, balance and integration, a killer nose and long finish.

Popped and poured, was singing right out of the gate and just got better over the last 2 hours. Bright cherry, raspberry and sandalwood with spice on the nose, the spice component luring you back for more.

Reminds me almost of a young Dujac Morey St Denis I had recently without the earthiness. Really clean fruit, good grip and finish, with bright red flavors mixed with cinnamon and cloves.

An excellent effort. Seems a lot of the 05’s I have been drinking lately are just right in the zone. Had an 05 Pisoni Estate last night that was just right there as well.
