The style of this wine seemed a little different than some Lewelling cabs from the late 90’s, early 2000’s- seemed a bit more elegant and more red fruits than black fruit, IMHO. Really enjoyed it!

2005 Lewelling Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena (2/7/2010)
Aromas of pomegranate, black cherry, cassis, caramel, and sweet licorice fill the room–what a nose! Rich, focused, long. Similar flavor as the nose, a little oaky, brawny & tannic. Drank real well with a strip steak–definitely a steak wine. Could use some time to soften up and integrate some more, but this is really good cabernet! 93+ (93 pts.)
