2005 Dry Stack Cellars Syrah Marie’s Block - USA, California, North Coast, Bennett Valley (6/14/2009)
Terrific syrah, full of lush dark fruit, bright, juicy, great acidity that contributes to a nice finish; Will be interesting to watch this vineyard as it gains some age, and hopefully some more complexity to add to the brilliant fruit. Not finding a lot of oak on the wine, a good thing which I hope they keep in check in future vintages. (91 pts.)

Nice note, Alan.
I like what these guys are doing.
Have some of the '08 Sauv Blanc on tap for next weekend.
Alan,
FYI, Marie’s Block is wholly within the Dry Stack vineyard - a vineyard that, like you, I think hold’s considerable potential as it matures. It certainly is farmed beautifully.
Best, Jim
Agree, Jim. We visited with Peter and Marie at the vineyard last year, really a beautiful place. Finished the bottle tonight, this is a really forward, juicy wine, way too easy to drink ![cheers [cheers.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/0/0ff9bfcdb0964982cd3240b6159868fbdf215b1a.gif)
