TN: 2005 Daniel Rion Echezeaux

This is why we cellar wine. To experience a wine that is truly at the top of its game. It is rich, crammed with darker fruits. But it’s not heavy, in any way. There’s real complexity, coffee notes, florals, some freshly tilled earth. The tannins are silky and the palate is plush. The balance is next level. It has latent power. It’s an F++ on the hexadecimal scale!

Funny, I opened a 2005 Mongeard-Mugneret Echezeaux the other night and again, was surprised by how open and complete the wine already was.

2005 Eche is trending. Love it. It does make sense as one of or not the softest/most accessible grand cru.
