60% Mourvedre/25% Grenache/15% Cabernet Sauvignon 14.9% alc.
Pop and poured, interesting nose of dark black cherry/mineral/herbs(thyme or marjoram?)/earth/slight oak. Rich and ripe in flavor but also layered and well focused with both sweet and earthy fruits. Slight tannins, smooth and textured finish with good acidity. Paired nicely with grill pork tenderloin. Enjoyable and a solid B+
Thanks, Larry. With that much Core Mouvedre, I’m surprised your rating isn’t at least A-, as David produces some really incredible CA Mouvedre, IMHO. I do like the herb component, as you have pointed out as well.
