2005 Château Joanin Bécot - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Côtes de Castillon (10/17/2010)
This is my second bottle from a case. This bottle was a bit better than the one 2 years ago but IMHO this wine still needs cellar time. The wine was decanted 3 hours. The color is an inky garnet with a bit of cloudiness. Not giving up much on the nose… some fruit, spice, earth, and graphite. The flavors of tart blackberry, graphite and soft earth are subdued by the dusty tannins. A little bitterness. Medium finish. I would say let this one rest at least another year. (89 pts.)
