2005 Adelsheim Pinot Noir Willamette Valley - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (4/27/2010)
Popped and poured, consumed over two nights. Classic OR pinot nose, an earthy, funky blast of red fruits. Plummy, cherry palate with some smoky leather and woody notes adding complexity. A touch less acidity than I’d like, which leaves it feeling slightly flabby on the finish, but all in all, a nice middle-aged entry level pinot noir.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. And thanks for not complaining when I drank your last pour behind your back. ![wink [wink.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/0/04707e6a7bbb03e0153e349d8a9270d30e1e9525.gif)
Was David Page winemaker there in 05- super nice guy!
John, I looked through the Adelsheim website to see what I could find out about this wine (source vineyards, etc) but could find nothing about the '05s. However, in looking around on some other sites, I found reference to David being there in 2005, so I guess he gets props for this wine.
I found some interesting other comments about the wine, however, including this from Matt Kramer:
“…If Adelsheim Vineyard has offered a better such bottling in its 35 years of existence, I cannot recall it.”- the Oregonian 9/24/06
