Last night with dinner, I opened a 2004 Wesmar RRV pinot.
As usual for a Wesmar pinot, I was greeted with an ebullient nose; strawberries, citrus and caramel filled the glass. These flavors coated the palate along with some trademark RRV cola notes and culminated in a pleasing mouthfeel with a slightly thin, acidic finish.
Don’t get me wrong here; this is a fabulous food wine, but it didn’t wow me like Wesmar’s '04 Olivet Lane pinot.
