I purchased this back on release solely on speculation. In its infancy, it was a jumbled mess of flavors while possessing a wacky balance. But it had a core of good and I hoped and expected it to be a winner. It has been 4 years with teh case with the case of wine resting in the cellar, so it was time for the unveiling. Well, it is maturing into a complex, complicated wine that causes a hullabaloo on your palate. I can’t explain the wine because every time you think of a descriptor, three more pop into your head. However, this is as intoxicating of a pinto as you can find.
For those who do not know, this wine is from the Cole Vineyard, high atop the ridge in Anderson Valley. It is so distinct, the TTB granted the vineyard its own appellation. Mac McDonald helped Esterlina develop the vineyard and he has a profound understanding of these grapes.
BTW, where are Mac and Lil, you never see them around anymore…

Mac & Lil are two terrific people, it’s been a couple months since we’ve seen them but they pop
in every so often .
It is probably getting close to time for him to show up with something for us try in the near future.
