2004 The Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown Mt. Veeder - USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder (12/27/2009)
Decanted for two hours. A nice, dark maroon color. Raspberry, blackberry, licorice, anise, vanilla, roasted coffee, and a hint of cedar on the nose. Medium body with good acidity and ripe, integrated tannins. Similar palate to the nose with a bit more oak on the fairly long finish. Drinking nicely, but no hurry to open. Some additional cellar time may allow the oak to integrate a bit more on the finish. Will buy more at the current, under $40 price point. (92 pts.)
