The 04 vintage was a bit unusual for Skewis. Their wines are excellent, and still very Skewis like, but at the same time with a very different profile. Like others from 04, this one seems to have darker fruits, black cherries (instead of red) and black tea notes in addition to the usual spice notes. It had a touch of spritz, and I mean just a touch, which blew off in minutes, and really allowed the wine to open. A nice, bitter and acidic, but balanced finish makes this wine excellent, and worth 90 points.
Still under the radar. Had an '06 Peterson last week that was screaming good.
