TN: 2004 Querciabella Camartina (Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT)

2004 Querciabella Camartina - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (4/24/2026)
Popped and poured at cellar temp. Still dark ruby color with beginning of bricking on the rim. Intoxicating nose of dark earth, blackberry fruit, tobacco and dried herbs. Lovely subdued black fruit and earth on the attack. Black pepper and herbs on an acid filled finish. Lovely spot right now, I think it is time to drink up as it is unlikely to improve from here and might start to slide downhill.

I have several of these left and agree with you. It is a good wine but I see no upside potential. In fact I wonder if it makes sense to store these kind of wines for a long time. I bought 12 after release and did not see a lot of development. At least not in term of quality, complexity, harmony etc.
