TN: 2004 Paumanok Assemblage (USA, New York, Long Island, North Fork)

  • 2004 Paumanok Assemblage - USA, New York, Long Island, North Fork (10/4/2014)
Ripe nose of cab, but more toward the bdx than CA. Herbs and cigar with red fruit. good middle with refreshing acidity and black/red fruit. spicy touches wit some meat/savory notes toward the finish. medium-long finish with mostly resolved tannins. improved slightly in the decanter over 2 hours - I would drink soon but no rush. Nice to see this review. Thanks. It is amazing how well the Paumanok wines age.

I’ve had the 2010 Assemblage recently and it is delicious right now and clearly has the stuffing to age for years and years.

As a Long Islander, and a fan of Paumanok (like the Cab Francs, Chenin Blanc, and Assemblage-generally speaking), felt the need to give them some kudos.

So you think I should open the 2002 Assemblage and the 2000 Grand Vintage Cab I’ve been hiding for almost 10 years.
