2004 Louis Jadot Chablis - France, Burgundy, Chablis (6/14/2009)
Love this wine! Golden green tinge in color, wonderful seashell, biscuit, green apple/pear, flinty match strike nose. Crisp green apple skin/lemon cut, stones and shells, and a Champagne-like bread toast as well. VERY appealing and satisfyingly TASTY Chablis! I think the Vintage is the key. Need more of these… (92 pts.)

Having another bottle tonight…really like this wine! Just has a nice simple correct Chablis lemon/shells/stones to it, as well as some smoky nuance. Can’t find anymore of the '04 locally, but see the 2006 discounted down to $22(pd $27 for the '04). I haven’t seen too many glowing reviews for the '06…but what do you think? For $22, and anything even close to this '04…I’d be happy.
Hard to pass up a solid Chablis at $22 unless its from a very poor vintage. I’d say give that 06 a try. From my experience the 06’s tend to be fatter or riper than many classic vintages. Not as linear and mineral. But there are some terrific wines from the vintage and since they don’t do a lot of oak covering there you can have a nicely pure Chardonnay experience…with acid!
