TN: 2004 Kirwan, Margaux

It’s been a while since I’ve had a bottle, but still: +1

Just popped an 2004 Kirwan two nights ago. I can’t quite wax on about it like Mr Finkler but it’s quite a tasty bottle of Margaux. The chalky tannins are playing nicely. Plenty of engaging dark fruits with a distinct elegance gained over the past 19 years. Enough enjoyable acidity for balance. Integrated toasty oak. It’s a charming Bordeaux that keeps tempting you back with classy style.

I popped 2003 Kirwan with Alert last year…I enjoyed it…I just snagged a '98 Kirwan

Last night I popped a 2019 Confidences de Prieure Lichine…at $39 this is a steal… A second wine as good as most of the Margaux classified growths… I’ve only had it once so it’s a small sample size, but I’m going to grab a couple more bottles
