TN: 2004 Domaine de Cristia Châteauneuf-du-Pape

2004 Domaine de Cristia Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1/10/2018)
This is my third of 4 bottles and the best to date… Pop and pour. The color is garnet with no browning or cloudiness. On the nose big time cherry with floral and vanilla notes. The flavors are very concentrated with black cherry and other dark fruit, licorice, pepper spice, eucalyptus, and a little bit of numbing tannin. A bit of as bitter note on the long finish. This is a very intense, focused wine that I believe will continue to develop for an additional 5 years minimum. Amazing performance for a $25 bottle. Drink or hold. (93 pts.)

It’s been a couple years since I’ve had it, but I agree that this is a terrific wine and great value. Good to see your update.
