Color is a faded garnet with bricked rim. Nose opens savory and resolved. Damp earth and black tea on a backdrop of dried red fruit. No lush modern sheen. This is Trotanoy in an old soul register. Palate is medium-bodied and precise. Tannins are fully resolved but still structure the wine with grace. 04 as a vintage shows its modesty here. Trotanoy’s pedigree still hums.
In-laws fresh off the plane summed it up nicely: “Yummy.” Yep, sounds about right.
