Wow. dense and brooding. This had it all and it was all strutting. Dark chocolate wrapped black cherries . Soy, kirsch, cola, wow. This had structure and elegance with flash and fury. I love this bold in your face style of pure cali-cab. A super long dense finish with gobs of fruit. wow. 99/100
What was the approximate retail there Mikey???
Much $$$
I see it for aboot $130-$140
For a real treat (and I will hate myself for saying this), but it’s worth it…
It was outstanding. A real find. The best of some very good cabs we enjoyed. MR - I would pay the money as well.
i think it was 100-120 on release? Delicious stuff. If you guys like the wine check out their merlot, the merlot is outrageously good at $75
$100 on release sold in 3 packs
if you look around, I wouldn’t be surprised if you find it for close to that via retail
'05 on the shelves here for $125.
I am pretty sure the 04 was just $90 on release. They went to $100 last year.
BTW - the 05 is also great, but not as much smack you in the face style. A little more restrained.
Had a taste of the 2005 a few months ago and it really blew me away. Great stuff!
I see Mags for sale for $395.00 at Wally’s. Is Leve on the list? [gheyfight.gif]
So I just got two for $95.20 each.
Pssst. Dont tell my wife… [big_boss.gif]
Nice find.
Very excited. I will bring to CLONYC’s Mark Herold night…

I think you’re kidding, but you put together some great nights so you might be serious! Sign me up, just in case!

Count me in for that too! (although I opened an '01 merus about a month ago and it was disappointing . . .)
I’d go for the Mark Herold night. I can bring one you probably haven’t had before (or heard of before).

Fellow CLONYCer’s
I will set this up for April. I need to get beyond the trb dinner first.
(Which if I might add has an amazing lineup. Wines I have never heard of)
I’m excited, are you?
Interestingly though, I am sure I won’t be seeking the Buccella in future vintages, as I am not really a fan of Celia’s.
I see another theme brewing: Same Wines, Different Winemakers. May sound good? [big_boss.gif]
