2003 Zumaya Tempranillo Ribera del Duero Crianza - Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero (8/24/2009)
Tried at Glasshalfull with dinner. Garnet with some light around the edges. Lovely earthy, gamey nose. Medium bodied with dusty, earth, mineral, dark tart fruit and a decent if short finish. Some spice with a little old wood flavors, some tannins but ready to drink. Half way between old and new world. Really quite nice and a good value in the mid-high teens. (88 pts.)
