TN: 2003 Mas de Gourgonnier Les Baux-de-Provence

This was a pleasant surprise. Still nice dark color with just a little bricking at the rim. Somewhat subdued nose of garrigue, blueberry and a little leathery earth. Really nice on the palate - blueberry and blackberry fruit, with a spicy, savory dusty finish. My guess is this was a little rustic when it was young but has mellowed into a nice wine.

Nice! [cheers.gif]

This used to be a staple for me, but it’s been a while since I’ve bought or drunk any. Maybe I should remedy that…

I know their odd shaped bottle is charming and all that…but its a real annoyance for those with storage issues. I would not have expected this to age so well…

You never know…
