TN: 2003 Georges Mugneret Clos Vougeot

a pretty good bottle of Burgundy that holds a lot in reserve–lots of fruit and density, lots of pretty ripe tannin and surprising acidity, needs another 20 years or so for maturity. Not the most elegant wine, but it’s balanced, nuanced and will be better down the long road.

Thanks for the note as I have a few. I wasn’t planning on trying one before 2015, but I guess delaying until 2020 seems prudent.

I don’t have too many grand cru burgs from 2003 but I have some. I really don’t know when to drink them. I suspect this is going to vary more than usual on a producer by producer basis.
