Well, after the dissapointing wines this weekend, I thought Id try something that had the chance to blow my panties off. Im still waiting for it…
The nose was huge with orange marmalade and candied lemons. Peculiar, but very attractive…some cinnamon in there too. Made me salivate. The palate, however, had underripe white figs. There was a hint of brown sugar and a few times when I sipped it felt like it was about to explode but it never did. Closed? Possibly. Not enough air? We shall see, I left more than half of the bottle for tonight. The nose if so interesting and I was so sure that this would just explode a few times that I cant wait to get home tonight and see.
Granted, it was a very different vintage but I gave the 04 I recently had well over 6 hours in a decanter and only until later in the evening did it start to open up. Thanks for the note!
