2003 Bodegas Alto Moncayo Campo de Borja - Spain, Aragón, Campo de Borja (1/24/2010)
Opened this up over a week ago but it was too aggressively New World so I put the cork back in and sort of forgot about it until now. Much to my surprise it’s still very much alive, which I think bodes relatively well for its aging potential. Notes of wild berries, black cherries, black plums, baking spices and menthol. Ripe on the palate to be sure, but after being open for a week, the flavors have become much more mellow and balanced. Decanting is well advised. (88 pts.)
