2002 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Rosé Brut - France, Champagne (8/25/2009)
A nice pale golden salmon with effusive tiny bubbles. Bread and yeast and a little red fruit and flowers on the nose. Nice acidity with red fruits and a bit of a bitter finish on the palate. Really delicious.

Greg,
I agree this is a really nice Champagne. The 04 which should be coming over to the States soon (if not here already) is another Comtes Rose winner. Not quite at the level of the 02 with a bit less fruit, but a great wine none the less.
Me three. Drank my only bottle of this back in November, everyone loved this wine.
Brad,
What is your opinion of the ageability of this wine?
I’ve no experience with roses, and little with regular champagne for that matter. The vast bulk of my “aged” champagne experiences come from 1982 forward – not too aged for many who post their champagne experiences (not to mention Mr. Juhlin’s 4000 Champagnes book).
Greg,
This should age well. It has a good backbone, is from a very good vintage, and has a pedigree of long aging Roses. I don’t think it will get better, but it will certainly change over time. This is one of those great wines that will drink well likely drink well throughout its life.
