This is the second great wine from WineBid that I’ve opened in the last couple of weeks. I bought 3 bottles of this for $25 each, and I can’t believe how good this is. I hadn’t heard of Spring Valley Vineyards before, I bought this based on the CT notes, but I’ll keep an eye out for them from now on.

2002 Spring Valley Vineyard Frederick - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley (1/20/2010)
Terrific wine. Dark ruby red in the glass. The nose has raspberry, cassis, charred wood, a hint of basil. Big fruit on the palate, full, but not overly sweet or thick. The tannins are just velvet at this point. There’s still some acidity underneath holding it up. Everything just comes together beautifully at this point. Long, delicious finish. (92 pts.)
