2002 Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve- USA, California, Napa Valley (1/20/2014)
Very dark in color. Incredibly dark plum and floral and earth aromas. Luscious mouth feel. Dark cherry taste with hint of dark chocolate flavor. Very nice long silky and fruity finish. No bitterness at all. No acidic imbalance. (94 pts.)
Thanks for the note. Have a few of these in the cellar, but haven’t popped one. Wonder how it compares to prior vintages of Mondavi Reserve. In general, I’ve thought of the '02 vintage as fairly soft, relatively fruit forward, without a lot of rough edges. From your notes, sounds like this one fits in roughly with that generalization?
