Medium ruby and just starting to brick. Enticing perfume of ripe black cherries, earth and game. Matrot’s signature elegance and purity is on display here, lifted by a velvety mouthfeel and palate staining slightly bitter cherry fruit. Medium finish. This was delicious at release and even more enjoyable now, so much so that I’m into my second case. Blagny is an overlooked appellation that delivers real quality for the money.
Thanks for the note on this. I’ve never had Matrot’s version (even though I’m a Matrot fan), but have liked Leflaive’s (both red and white).
Cheers,
-Robert
