2002 Louis Jadot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru (4/18/2023)
From my dad’s cellar, and I really don’t know why he bought this, as he never drank any of the bottles. I opened two while visiting over the years, and when he passed there were still four left. I brought two home, and opened one tonight. Good timing. It’s in that mature state where earth, fruit and mineral merge into a seamless whole. It’s not clear where one ends and another begins. Light to medium bodied, it does not dominate the palate, but retains brightness to make the next sip mandatory. There’s actually a fair bit of tannic structure, but enough depth for balance. It could be more assertive aromatically, but given what it cost on release I am not going to quibble. It’s drinking well, and in no risk of decline.

Sounds tasty. A recent 2005 was drinking well too.

Sounds really lovely David. The old Jadot tannic structure gives these wines legs.
Reckon I have some '12s somewhere, which i will try to keep my hands off.
