TN: 2002 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny

  • 2002 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny (6/6/2014)
Light in color with a pretty rather than powerful nose with mossy undergrowth and red pinot fruit and oddly an almost basil herbal side. It has a nice balance of fruit earth and savory. Airy and understated, Supple and soft, but leaving a larger impact than the body would suggest. very fine chambolle. Lacy tannins, and an easiness to drinking this. This grew to a betternwine over a cople hours. Early peak for me and lovely. 90 pts (90 pts.)

Thanks Todd, one of my favs in my cellar. Still have 2 of 4 left. I’ve been spacing them out but haven’t seen much evolution with age, yet. A very pretty, ethereal wine.

I also had one a few months ago Nd felt it was still in need of time.

Bought a case of this back when it was a normally priced wine and it was so good we just drank the whole thing. Simultaneous feelings of no regrets and wishing we had saved a couple. They were damn delicious though.
