TN: 2002 Heitz Trailside Vineyard

Mmmm. Classic cab goodness. Explosive aromas of mint, cherries/red fruits, spice, herbs, and cassis erupt from the bottle on PnP. You just know you need to stop and buckle your seatbelt from that first sniff (love when that happens). Equally as good on the palate with a perfect amount of acidity, and a firm tannic bite on the long finish that hints at years of prime drinking ahead. Seriously good right now, but honestly I feel like this will be even better 10+ years from now. Highly recommended.

Love me some Heitz.

Fantastic! One of my favorites has been the 2007 Trailside.

Thanks for the note, Rich!

I have had quite a few of these and still have a few in my “long term experiment” box. Every bottle of this has showed well. I’m a big fan of the Trailside vineyard, it doesn’t get much love here.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Agreed CJ - I’m a big fan as well. Especially for the price. Been snagging 2010’s at retail lately for $80. Hard to beat that in the world of Napa cab.

These were direct from the winery, wish you would have seen this post.

Wow. That’s an awesome deal. Bummed I missed that :frowning:

I like Trailside better than Martha’s. Glad to hear the '02 is aging well, as I would expect. I’ll be trying the '04 soon.
