2002 Flora Springs Trilogy - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/14/2009)
This is my fourth bottle of this wine in the past 3 years and each time it has been excellent. Enticing aromas of blackberries, black currant, plum, dark chocolate, and just a hint of cinnamon. Smooth entry on the palate with rich sweet cherries, mint, and cola flavors. Resolved tannins and well balanced. Plenty of youth left on this wine, but based upon the tannins, I suspect that it’s starting to enter its peak drinking window. (91 pts.)
I had several bottles of the '01 Trilogy, which was a fantastic wine with foods such as roasts, stew, etc. I finished the last bottle probably a year ago, so your drinking window seems spot on when compared to the '01, which was in its zone last year.
