2002 Achával-Ferrer Malbec Finca Altamira - Argentina, Mendoza, Valle de Uco, La Consulta (5/23/2012)
More earth components than the bright fruits newer vintages offer. Spice, cedar, floral and mint notes. The palate offers some blueberries and sour cherries. Medium finish and fine sediment. Maybe a little too acidic is the only flaw. Drink now as this wine will not improve. (92 pts.)

Thanks. I’ve often wondered how the top A-F wines would age.
I would assume very well. Big tannins, great minerality, solid rich fruit, and good acids. They should last decades.
Thanks for posting - John.
A-C top 3 Malbecs are pricey in Quebec, Canada.
Just had one tonight and it was horrid - green, acidic, metallic and undrinkable. I have had the Quimara from this vintage (I think) and it was great. Totally bizarre. Any ideas?
I just had a 2002 Bella Vista (18 cases produced), and it was just as bad - metallic, burned rubber and blech.
