Absolutely, positively, no hesitation whatsoever, this is a monumental, blockbuster wine. Super intense and concentrated fruit full of dark cherry and subtle notes of chocolate. Profoundly and impressively structured fine and silky tannins. A finish that goes on for over a minute. At one point, after having some of this wine, I ate a piece of steak, swallowed it, and then after the steak was safely in my stomach I started tasting the Abreu again. Completely unreal! There are only a handful of wines I have had in my life that compare with this wine. Better yet, I predict this wine in 10 to 20 years will be even more delicious. Yum, yum, yum!!! 98 points.

Brad Grimes, their winemaker, has made so many great wines and is almost a complete unknown to the wine press or even most collectors. In terms of a fame to quality ratio, he is by far the most unheralded great winemaker in California.
Now that’s what I call a ‘long’ finish.
Great note, Curtis. Thanks for posting.
