    Medium gold in color, this was true to form to its’ vineyard of origin in every way. Muscular bodied with a great concentration fo fruit. Ripeness which is impossible to avoid in Rotenberg unless one manipulates the wine in the cellar, but not overly sweet ( it will dry out more in the next decade ). Wonderful flavors of lime and orange zest and the Rotenberg-typical roasted fruits and red clay. Medium to long on the finish. 50+13+13+8.5+8.5 = 93 (93 pts.)

Sounds tasty, Jeff. I don’t have this vineyard, but I do have the '01 PGs from Windsbuhl & Jebsal. BTW, I agree 100% with your comment about how these wines tend to “dry out”. I had a bottle a few weeks back of the '89 PG Rangen Clos St. Urbain that was absolutely killer, and virtually bone dry. I can recall the wine many years ago on release being almost too much/over-the-top in it’s style, so the transformation has been nothing short of amazing.

The '89s hit this magical plateau about 2-3 years ago and are so open and great right now. By chance I’m having the '89 Rangen Riesling later today.
