2001 Dehlinger Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (5/26/2014)
Opened for two hours, decanted for one hour. Wow did this evolve. Cedar, cherry, some lead pencil and dirt. Wonderfully balanced and just got more expressive as it opened. Medium body, no fruit bomb here. Just a terrific wine. (92 pts.)

Yup…TomDehlinger doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for his Cabs. They’re as good as anything from the
NapaVlly at 10X the $$'s.

These are indeed individualistic Cabs from the RRV and the only Cabs I buy anymore. There is a textural quality that I adore.
I do not recall any Cab Reserve designation since I have been buying from the 2004 vintage. Sounds like I need to continue cellaring them while I drink the Claret in the mid term.
Awesome. I was able to backfill on 90s Bordeaux blends and cabs and they have been terrific. Didn’t start buying direct until 2004 but those are still sleeping.

Thanks for the note. Been sitting on a couple, might be time to try one.
Glenn, I think the 2001 may have been the only time they bottled a “Reserve” Cab.
The standard '01 Cab is fantastic now as well
And for that matter, all the 01 Pinots!
