TN: 2001 Castelgiocondo (Marchesi de' Frescobaldi) Brunello di Montalcino

  • 2001 Castelgiocondo (Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi) Brunello di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (10/11/2009)
Nice nose of cherry and spice with a tight mid palate showing minerality and soft tannins. Young wine that opened up after two hours in a decanter. Paired well with food. Darker and more brooding with air. Will hold the two remaining bottles for several years.

Well, 2001 Brunellos are arguably “babies” but it sounds like it worked for you.

Glad you thought it was a good match.
