We got together some of the usual suspects for dinner and wines at Berserker Steve McL’s place last night. We had some terrific wines. Closed out with this one. It was mine so I did the note in CT and thought I’d share it. Great wines these Trimbach sweeties.
2000 Trimbach Pinot Gris Sélection de Grains Nobles - France, Alsace (8/25/2022)
Just lovely. Beautiful gold to bronze color. Apricot, jam, orange sorbee. it's at first rich and decadent, but buffered with the most lilting and zippy acidity. Just coats the palate and sails on and on. Hard to put down.
Thanks. I still have one 750ml of that wine. Several years ago, as distribution was changing, it was closed out locally for $45/750. There were three on the shelf, and I grabbed them all.
Nice score. This one came from a Chambers sale couple years back at a relatively decent price. Wish I bought more. Not something I want all that often, but at the right time, they so deliver.
