2000 Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon Estate - USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena (8/28/2009)
Muted but rich Napa Cab nose of red currants with a hint of coffee and spice. Fairly full in the mouth with good fruit, but lacks the sweetness and richness of a top vintage. Fine tonight with lamb chops, but drink sooner rather than later. This won’t get any better with age. (89 pts.)

Ken; Very nice and accurate note. I believe Spottswoode’s style lends itself very well to the so called “off” vintages. The '98 is also quite a charming wine.
