2000 Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Noir Reserve - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (6/27/2009)
As usual with Eyrie the initial impression, based on the color (dark pink), made me wary that this would be a lightweight. And while it tended toward the elegant it was certainly not a inconsequential bottle. After 30 minutes of air this opened up very nicely. Vibrant yet nuanced red fruit with a note of wet stone and a sneaky long fiinish made this bottle an absolute delight. To this taster, this bottle is in it’s prime and may go a few more years.
